The design is anchored by a new staircase, which serves as both a functional and sculptural element, enhancing movement through the home while allowing light to filter between levels.

On the lower level, polished concrete floors provide a robust, contemporary foundation, offering durability and thermal mass while creating a seamless connection to the rear garden through expansive, elegant glazing. These large openings flood the space with natural light and extend the living area outdoors, reinforcing a sense of openness and fluidity.

Moving upwards, the materiality shifts to warm timber flooring, complementing an exposed timber structure that brings depth and character to the interior. The structural elements are left visible, celebrating craftsmanship and adding a tactile, natural quality to the upper levels. This contrast between raw concrete and the warmth of timber defines the home’s architectural language, striking a careful balance between modernity and tradition.
