The scheme for this project involved the remodelling and extension of a semi-detached Victorian villa to create a bright and spacious family home.
The general refurbishment included excavation of the existing lower storey to provide generous ceiling heights and to bring in additional natural light to improve the quality of the key living spaces. Enlarged glazed aspects looking onto the garden further served to give an airy feel to the existing building. Increasing the size of the garden terrace also served to provide a better connection between the internal and external functions of the house.
A new staircase was installed, adding a dramatic centrepiece to the entrance hallway and through the core of the house.
